Responsible for both the creation and execution of a Social Media capability at EDF Energy, the Social Media Manager role will require a well-balanced mix of solid Social Media experience (planning and execution across internal and external Social Media outlets –blogs, forums, Facebook, Twitter, etc-), leadership, analytical and influencing skills aligned to a very strong commercial sense. Frequently presenting Social Media strategy and Campaign results at executive forums, the job holder will need to be comfortable at all levels of the organisation and have the ability to communicate clearly and compellingly on a range of complex issues.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Extensive experience of working in an Social Media team or agency for a major consumer Ecommerce brand with >1m plus customers >£1m budget
• A strong strategic thinker who is highly numerate and analytical with a proven track record of commercial acumen
• An education to degree standard is also required or a demonstration of ability to the same level delivered in a working environment
• Professional qualification in Social Media, Marketing, Digital related disciplines
• Familiarity with principles and processes associated with generating reach, visits,
sales and other key Digital objectives, with a strong sense for cost and resource options for all methods, channels and channel mix, structure and Social Media usage scenarios (Engagement, Sales generation, Awareness generation, Lobbying and debate leadership, Customer service, Retention, Customer Advocacy and Recommendation, etc)
• Experience of managing a roster of Digital agencies and Social Media Providers and Channels to provide consistently high-quality Social Media campaigns
• High level of business and market awareness
• Strong track record of providing Ecommerce results through the aggregation of disparate Social Media activity
• Excellent communication, influencing and organisational skills
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills
• Experience in producing executive summary reports and giving presentations to most Senior levels of management
• An ability to carry out situation, option and impact assessments and performance reviews
• Excellent problem solving skills and a commercial focus
• Adaptable, with experience of multi-tasking and working at own initiative to deliver tasks on time, budget and target
